GFR = LIFE

    Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Chris and this is me at Stage 3 CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease). In December of 2017 my diagnoses increased to Stage 4, I was told by my doctor that I would need to begin looking for a transplant as complete organ failure would be soon to come.

This is not easy for me to say nor share (publicly) as I am usually a very private person. However this situation calls for me to be outside my comfort zone and share my story (and information) with others.

    I've created this site to help me spread the message of my need for a transplant, so you will see a lot of post about my personal life and challenges that I am facing. The site will also feature information about being a donor and Renal failure in general, for those of you that would like to find out more about the subject. So come along with me on my journey and feel free to drop me a line.

What to expect,...

In the last article I discuss my experiment on the average use of salt and how easily it is for those suffering with late stage renal failure to exceed their limit, simply by adding salt to their plate of food. How can we lower our sodium intake? Is there an easy way t...

One of the key diet restrictions, self imposed or doctor appointed, when dealing with late stage renal failure is Sodium. We all love sodium! Sodium is half of the molecule that makes up table salt (sodium chloride). Sodium is not only found as table salt but also in p...
